A little bit of walking.

The past two weeks Amy & I have walked (while Andrew biked) to start preparing for the half marathon walk we want to do. Last Sunday we walked from Amy's home in South Everett to the Mukilteo ferry - about 6 miles. It was a beautiful day for a long walk, I even ended up looking like a cherry pop from the sun by nightfall. Yesterday we walked from my apartment to UW campus and then back - about 9 miles. Granted we did stop to enjoy the quad beauty as well as grab a bite on the ave, but nonetheless it was a long journey, even Penelope crashed when we returned home. We were lucky enough to have some sunny weather yesterday as well (as I look out my window typing this, it is beginning to rain). The marathon we're hoping to do is the Seattle Rock n'Roll Marathon - already sold out with 25,000 people. We hadn't bought our tickets yet but things seem to be working out..Amy bought a ticket off a friend and apparently the Tim McGraw team could use our help promoting their charity so if we can raise $750.00, I'm in! Whoop whoop. Nevertheless I've been enjoying the walks with Amy, a few hours of chatting and laughing is just what I need at the end of the week so I hope we continue to keep it up after the marathon.

In other news, wedding preparations are coming along. We are having an intimate ceremony with immediate family at Alderbrook Resort & Spa - fingers crossed. We have yet to sign the contract but plan on doing that this week. I'm a little shy and Sean doesn't like pressure either, so it'll be nice feeling comfortable and open with just our grandparents, parents, brothers & sisters. More news when I know more for sure, but I'm getting excited!!

Just enjoy the show: Here are some candid photos of Andrew on our walk to the Mukilteo ferry last weekend. I just loved each of these, they really captured the happiness of childhood and growing up and reminded me you have to enjoy the little things aka 'show'. It's amazing to me that Andrew is already 10.5! I remember him gripping my pinkie finger when we was a baby, bopping Sean on the head with his toy hammer when he was a toddler and helping to coach his soccer team when he first began sports. Now he has girlfriends, enjoys testing the boundaries with his hairstyles, dances when he hears a song he likes and is coming into his own. Granted he still mumbles crazy stories in the background when Amy & I are chatting or makes silly faces like kids do but it is just amazing to see him grow up. I feel lucky that I am so close to them, and I look forward to my good bye hug every visit! Inspired blueprints sketch #18. The Design Experiment challenge #47.
