Our first Easter.

Sean and I have been together for over eight years, yet we've never spent an Easter morning together. That means no plastic bright colored eggs, baskets filled with chocolate or pink fingers from dying boiled eggs. This year will be our first and I am super excited! I went out this morning to find things for his basket (aka our banana basket). Starting at Safeway I got him some Cadbury goodness and double stuffed Oreos, then I headed to Half Price Books where I found a great road trip guide by National Geographic to prepare for our trek this summer as well as a children's bible book. Sean grew up without religion, and after taking a middle eastern studies class last quarter became interested in Christianity. I thought a children's book would be a nice simple way for him to learn the basic stories and for $3, he can recycle it when he's done! A nice simple basket. Maybe next year I'll start thinking about it earlier but for now I am pleased. The only thing left to do is get my hands on some plastic eggs, everywhere I checked was already out of them, oops for waiting till the last possible minute. If worse comes to worse I'll just by some balloons and blow them up real tiny to look like eggs! haha

Aside from Easter preparation I have some Tennessee layouts to share for my 8x8 album. I decided to do it much like the German Rail album, with collages of buildings on one side and scrapped pages of people on the other. Here is what I have so far:

Nashville: Here are some photos of the capital buildings as well as the war memorial in the plaza. My mom, Jay & I all learned that Papa had served in the Korean War while visiting the plaza, so I included a photo of the statues. In addition, the Tennessee State Museum was located across the street so we perused the free exhibit learning all about the Native history to the present in the Tennessee region.

Rock City: After visiting Ruby Falls we headed to Rock City, a little touristy spot right on the border of Tennessee in Georgia. This place was located in the middle of a town called Fairyland I believe, all the streets were named after classic Disney characters and Rock City kind of took on the same theme. There were Fairyland Caverns, Fat man's Squeeze a suspension bridge and lots of little nooks and cranny's for us to explore.

Rock City: Ma & Jay together is trouble on their bladders. haha The title is just a little reminder of the family genes. I can't tell you how many times we had to pause whatever we were doing because one of the two were laughing too hard - all I can do is smile.

Family: Here is an impromptu photo shoot with my Nana & Papa. These are special photos to me because pictures with them are limited since I rarely have the opportunity to visit.
